Placing of a combination piling and crib dock at Doll bland, Alaska, at an estimated ex-pen of 160,000, will start shortly after the end of tbe present month, according to N. D. Moon, vice-president of the Pacific Coaat Company, says the Post Iuteiligenoer of recent date. The dock la the tint actual construction step In the northern development of the Pacific Coast Cement Company, a subsldarjr of the Pacific Coast Company and which will shortly break ground for the big cement plant to be built In Seattle. All of the framing of the timbers of the dock has been completed In the warehouse on Pier A, and tbe timbers, piling and lumber will go north at tbe end of the month probably on the St. ifsul, which was recently purchased for the use of the oement company. A construction gang or 50 men wUl be sent north also and until quarter are built on shore will live on board the Bt Paul. Because of the rock bottom at Dall Island, the pier will be cribbed with large timbers and the cribbing filled with rock and sunk. Piling will be sec lr the cribs. According to the plans of tbe dock the structure will have a 380-foot face and extend 200 feet out from shore.
