Collars Aid. Dlbb. Aid. Ltaiwy tnd Aid t-rudbomme, was engaged In consideration of appeals against the 1828 city assessment. At the close of the even ing session, the court adjourned unti! this afternoon when certain adjourned cases will be heard. Decision on all the apepala probably rendered Monday. No decisions have yet been finally made by the court. Yesterday afternoon, the court heard W. McLarnon, assistant taxation commissioner for the Canadian National Railways, who set forward grounds of cvervaluatlon in connection with the appeals that hare been made by the railway company and the subsidiary concern, the Orand Trunk Pacific De velopment Co. Mr. McLarnon claimed that there had been an undue increase In assessment from las year. In connection with the waterfront blocks of the Canadian National Railways, which hare been appealed en bloc. Mr. McLarnon ststed that the appeal was more in the nature of a formal protest. These lands are cover ed as far as taxation Is concerned by a five-year agreement with the city and the .appeals. Mr. McLarnon stated, would probably not be pressed. On five parcels of townslte land, the Orand Trunk Pacific Development Co.. how- frontage placed merely represents the distance that the floats project in the water. O. H. Arnold was denied a hearing on certain property the appeal for which had not been made within the statutory time allowed. Mr. Arnold represents other appealr oa the Hat. In the appeal of F. Lanza and Blanco on lots 16 and 10. block 35. sec tion 1. which Mr. Lanaa claimed were over valuated. the assessor recommend sd reductions in assessment of from 11.460 and II MO to 1.350 snd 11.400 respectively. Mr. Lanza is also appeal ing the valuation of other Section One property M. M.
