This will be her third visit and the second for this season. She will soon be looked upon as a Prince Rupert vessel. Possibly something might be done on this occasion to give recognition to the visit. II-iy a record, so far as this port is concerned. KEKPINV. PUBLIC SERVICE CLEAN Because a public servant in a prominent position gambled in foreign exchange, he was dismissed from office in (Ireat Britain yesterday. He was a public servant and his private affairs had to be kept along channels which could not influence his actions in the government service. In this country the worst offence of that kind is for public servants to take part in elections. Every time a government changes, some iwstmasters and others are let out of their positions because of their political activity. Since the last election complaints were laid against over a thousand postmasters and they were dismissed or asked to resign. Some of these charges may have been unjust, but as a general rule it is found that men of this clans become oyer zealous for their party and put themselves in the position of taking an active part against the interests of their employers. Then thev are let out. LOC'ATINK THE HKillWAY A locating parly of engineers is again at work on the route between this city and Terrace. The route has to be established before very much more of the highway can be built. Also the Department of Marine at Ottawa has to approve the type of bridge to cross the narrows at Galloway Rapids, and to agree to the height above water and whether it shall be allowed without a draw span. It is to he hoped that these matters "will all be quickly disposed of before long and the work proceed. In the meantime the road across Kaien Island is being completed and the survey beyond that point io hving made, w.h a i-w to (f... idintr definitely on the mute. Serve breakfast promptly !
