Pen'jmf.lu'rthe'r Hlirmatlon on the matter being obtained, the hospital board last night deferred its decision on a proposal from the Northern B. C. Salmon Fishermen's Association that a scheme be put into effect whereby salmon fishermen might obtain treatment and use of hospital facilities on the basis of payment of annual or monthly dues to the institution. A letter: tipm Charles Lord, secretary-treasurer of the association, stated that this had been one of the matters taken up at the annual meet ing of the association recently. It was pointed out that such a scheme had been in operation for some time n connection with the Port Simpson Hospital. As matters now stood the hosDltal often lost accounts of fishermen who were unable to Dav. If the system of hospital dues were idopted, it might prove a benefit jo all concerned. Dr. J. P. Cade recalled that the ticket system had been tried soma years ago by the local hospital, but it naa proven a iuuure and an ex ense to the hospital. A minimum number of men to come under th? wheme would have to be set and definite period determined. If ?0O men signed up .to pay dus it night pay the hospital. Aid. Brown thought the proposal as well worth looking intp. fte iggested that the matter be left ivor to next year's board and that, n the meantime, information a t$ he details of the Port Simpson ;ch?.ne and as to how many men -nigm s gn up locally and for how 'nns b obtained.
