The Regiment did most of the pressing throughout the game and was beaten only through inaccurate shooting or bad luck. Playing up hill, the soldiers took the lead right from the start John Murray put through a goal which was disallowed because Tinker was offside. Wilson then scored the counter for the Regi ment McKay soon equalized for the Empress Club, the Regiment believing there was sn offside. In the second half, Empress players pressed and,-following a free kick against Brand for car rying the ball, McKay put them ahead, The Regimental goal had another narrow escape in a scramble. During the las. fifteen minutes, the Regiment did everything but score. John Murray spoiled a good ehancc by hand ling the ball in goal mouth.
