Demonstration Be The Diocese ot Caledonia, of which Prince Rupert is the See, Is holding 1U Jubilee this year. Although the Church of England started work on the north coast of B.C. in 1857. It was not until 1879 that it was set apart as a diocese and a bishop appointed. The first bishop was Dr. Ridley and the second was the late Archbishop DuVernet, who was succee ded Just a year ago by Bishop Rlx. To mark the Jubilee very special services are being held in the near future. Advantage is being taken of the presence in the diocese of the Anglican National Commission consisting of three of the most distinguished men in this Canadian church The Rt. Rev. Derwin Trevor Owen DU., The Bishop of Niagara; The Rev. Canon Gould MB, D.CX., of Toronto, and Dr. Olsbome of Ottawa. Special services and conferences are being held in various parts of the diocese. The meeting which will be of in terest to Prince Rupert church people and others, will be first of all a dinner at the Commodore Cafe on Friday, Sept. 20, when the above mentioned visitors and others will be the speakers.
