Winston Churchill, chancellor of the exchequer, told the house of commons today that the kind of proposals foreshadowed for the German reparations settlement in the London press yesterday would be unacceptable to the Baldwin cabinet. Under no circumstances would the government entertain such proposals, he said. The proposals were made by Owen D. C, THURSDAY, MAY 9, NOT I EDITORIAL VALUE OF TOURISTS Seattle claims that the tourist business was worth $32,G00,000tto that city last year. This is probably the world's greatest Industry and practically every city ori the continent shares in it. Prince Rupert is able to entertain those, people who come here by boat and train, but they are not the ones who upend moneyi What Is needed to make this a tourist centre is the road to connect the city with the outside. If ten thousand cars vis td Prince Rupert during the summer, the city would be one of the most prosperous in the country. It is hard to believe that Premier Tolmle and the other cabinet ministers are aware of the fact tha only six miles of provineiaU,rad .haa been built in' this .-neighborhood during the' past twenty years.
