He will undoubtedly mention prominently the policy of the Government in regard to the western outlet to the Peace River and other matters in which Prince Rupert is vitally concerned. We urged Prince Rupert people to hear Hon. R. B. Bennett, Conservative leader, and they were not disappointed. . Now we urge that they hear Right Hon. W. L. Mackenzie King and suggest at the same time that they wear the Peace River outlet badges which will be secured either at the railway station in the afternoon or at the door of the theatre. GREAT JIANY NEEDS There are a great many heeds. We! should like to ask the federal government for a grant to the highway, for a post office and for many outstanding things but what j were considered most important were put on the list. The j first and most important of all these is the western outlet i for the Peace River at Prince Rupert. We think we shall get the post office anyway. GLAD TO MEET PREMIER Prince Rupert people are always glad to meet Pre mier Mackenzie King. He is urmsn umpire ana as sucn rrince uupert people greet him today. Any man who can hold the confidence of the majority of the people of Canada for as many years as has the present Liberal leader has in him qualities which must be away above the ordinary. 1 We think Premier King will find some chatfges in Prince Rupert since he was here last and we hope the next few years will bring even greater changes. " r) LOCAL PEOPLE BUSY It is surprising how much money local people have for investment. When the stocks take a drop, Prince Rupert people are there ready to take advantage of the position and some of them make money. Others there are who lose their cash through not handling it wisely. The interesting feature is that people fn Prince Rupert have the money with which to play and most of them have made it here. WE THANK THEE We thank Thee for this wond'rous heritage Of smiling skies, of land with wealtfi untold; We thank Thee, too, for this enlightened age, Permitting willing workers to unfold These treasures great. For those, oh, Lord, we call To labor thus we seek Thy guiding hand So they may forge ahead and fear no fall And sing Thy praise throughout our Native Land. We thank Thee for Thy plan whereby we live Within fair Canada's Dominion grand, Our thanks for opportunities to give The best we have are Thine. May each demand Our country makes have Thine to bless the cause And give her sons the strength to delve and build. To progress through each age without a pause. And reach the journey's end as Thou hast willed. Victoria, B. C. ' ROBT. D. MacLACHLAN. The Letter Box REGRETS SAD DEATH Skidegate, B.C., Nov. 6 Editor, Dally News: The mm i 44 death of P.
