Goldbloom Passes in East William Goldbloom, colorful fur trader in Prince Rupert for thirty years or more, died in Montreal last Thursday after a long illness. He was 93 years of age. Born in Russia, Mr. Goldbloom came to Canada as a young man and, after a time in Montreal and Winnipeg, joined In the Yukon gold rush as an itinerate dealer in watches and jewelry. He became interested in fur trading and came to Prince Rupert to continue dealing in raw furs as well as conducting a retail fur shop. He sold out four years ago to Fowlie & Ruttle and went to Montreal. Infirmities of age had confined him to hospital for a good deal of the time since. The funeral took place at Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery last Friday. Mr. Goldbloom's wife, Rachel, died years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Florence) Ripstein and Mrs. Louis (Nellie) Halperin as well as four grandchildren and eight great-granchildren.
