Benson came in yesterday from Stewart bringing a sample of the ore from the big strike of native silver from the Spider property. It was very rich stuff and he says it assays 2,000 ounces to the ton. He says it is a very large showing and it has caused a good deal of excitement in the camp. The property is owned by RK. Woods and Bob Martin, but there are others interested, in- cluding Harry Rochester of this city. Mr. Benson says that they have a very fine chunk of ore for the Prince Rupert Exhibition. It is one of the richest and most hand- some pieces he had ever seen, The native silver makes a peculiar formation.
