Yesterday afternoon in the southwest corner of the Anglican churchyard at Port Simpson, which is beautifully situated on the hillside overlooking the fair harbor, a small group of Prinee Rupert visitors gathered around a newly dug grave, to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of Mrs. Sanderson, wife of Captain E. Sanderson of the trawler Geo. BE. Foster. A simple service conducted by Dr, Spencer of Port Simpson, assisted by the Rev. J. B. Rowell of the First Baptist Chureh of Prince Rupert. After five years of the most painful illness, Mrs. Sanderson, who had been in the Port Simp. son Hospital since May of this year, passed away early on Wed- nesday morning. The party of was intimate friends of Captain and Mrs. Sanderson, left Prince Ru- pert yesterday morning on the “F. H. Phippen” which the Cana- dian Fish & Cold Storage Co. had kindly placed at the disposal of Captain Sanderson for the sad occasion. Shortly after their ar. rival at Port Simpson the funeral service was held in the hospital. The casket, which was covered with flowers, was carried all the way from the hospital to the churchyard by the pallbearers, where the deceased was laid to rest. Accompanying the Prince Ru- pert party to the grave were Dr. Large, of the Port Simpson hos- pital, several of the hospital staff and Mr. John Flewin. The pall- bearers were Jim Thomas, Geo Wilson, J. Myhill Jones, W. Wil- liamson, Chris Elkins and J. B. Rowell. Among the floral tvibutes sent, those from the Sons of England, the Adair Carss Chapter I.O.D.E., the Canadian Fish & ‘old Storage Co., the crew of the “Geo. is, Foster,” the school child- ren of Port Simpson, and the hospital staff were noticeable for their beauty. The funeral ar- rangements were in the hands of the B. C, Undertakers. The “Phippen”™ brdught Captain Sanderson and his party back to the city last eveinng. x-~ me Trite Talks on Girl Subjects | “Is your whole object in life to By AUNT JIMMIE attract men?” “Of rourse it is. Not having an opinion of my own to offer and being an old maid and therefore one not supposed to have an opinion worth anything, I set out to find out how my younger friends viewed it. She is one of those fair girls with the blue eyes and a freckle or two, just enough to lend charm. She remarked: “Oh you silly! Were you never young? I live for men, They in- terest me all the time. Some of them I hate, some of them I just love, and some of them are nice to go out with, but to none of them am I indifferent. Even th: old and the obese, the ugly and awkward are interesting. By the by, old thing, are there any really ugly men? I never knew of one, They all have their peculiar at- tractions. Men for mine, my old auntic. Give me plenty of men Phone tf and I really live. What else is there worth anything in this life?” Kitty was the most enthusiastic and“outspoken, but from the con- versations with the others I should say that all were much alike only some were less frank in their expression.
