The race wiil take place at 10 a.m. on the last day of the fair and there will be either two or three local entries that will possibly have an effect on Mr. Campbell's ambitions. Many Indians are very proud of their launches and this will be an opportunity to test their speed and endurance. A number of entries are looked for. REORGANIZING TRADE THROUGHOUT BELGIUM 10.—Trade proceeding rapidly in Belgium. As Great Britain has its Federation of British Indus- tries and France its formidable industrial groups, so Belgian in- dustry has been divided into a well-organized system of 18 main divisions. In each of these di- visions have been formed one or more groups to take charge of the interests of each of the particular branches into which the industry in question is subdivided. ‘The groups are not merely industrial associations, but are judicial or- ganizations with power to buy and sell. They were formed withoul any olflicial intervention or con- trol, but have been virtually rec- ognized by the Belgian govern- ment. At the head of this system the Central Industrial Com- mission which existed before the war as a federation of the large industrial associations. The Com- mission has established a special reconstruction service with head- quarters in Brussels for the pur- pose of assuring unity of uction among the various groups and to serve as the intermediary in deal- ing with the Government in all questions of general interest.
