Free From Fires.

Prince Rupert is very free from fires. Last month there was
ao not one, as was shown by the report of the fire chief to the Cily
Council. In spite of its freedom from conflagrations the city has
to pay high rates of insurance. This it seems is because of thé
character of the buildings. fire-breaks in the
business section.

There are too few

If the city could be given an assurance that a substantial

reduction would be made in the rates it would pay to build a few

re fire walls here and there in the city. At any rate the owners of
_ property should be encouraged to erect substantial buildings that
eo would act as fire breaks and at the same time be a credit to the

' city. The Royal Bank building and the Killas building are models
of what should be done and their presence has already had a con
siderable effect in lowering the insurance rates in their immediate
neighborhood.

SLYGULAR that certain parcel or tract of
land and premises situate, lying and being
in the City of Prince Rupert, more par-
ticularly known and described as Lot
Seven (7), Block twenty-five (25), Section
Seven (7), (Map.923); You are required
to contest the claim of the tax purchaser
within 35 days from the date of the ser-
vice of this notice (which may be effected
by Publication in a daily neyspaper), and
your attention is called to section 36 of
the “Land Registry Act’ with amendmenis,
and to the following extract therefrom:
“and in default of @ caveat or cer-
tifeate of lis pendens being filed be-
fore the registration as owner of the
person entitied under such tax sale,
all persons so served with notice,
