Campaign to Commence.

The Victory Loan campaign for this year is about to he
launched. The Dominion Government is appealing to the coun
try for funds to carry on the affairs of the country during recon

struction days.

for income. In addition to that the bonds are good collateral at
the bank, should emergency arise.

It is to be hoped that Prince Rupert people will do their
again. They are not asked to make any real sacrifices for there
is no better way of investing savings than in putting it into g&
ernment bonds such as those about to be offered,

Baseball is King
During This Week.

Baseball is king throughout the United States and Cana:a
this week. The American sport is followed more closely by many
than any other news feature and some people get very excite:
over the results. Even those who have affected to despise pas
ball as a game only for the peanut-chewing crowd, are becoming
enthused and find themselves eagerly looking for the scores. The
sport has a very wide appeal.

Liberal Unionists
A Separate Entity.

The separation of the Liberal Unionists and the holding of
a caucus as a separate entity is a phase of polities rather unlook
for. ~The despatches yesterday gave the intimation that there was
a possibility-that the caucus might have done something else
than support the Government. In future they will be looked upon
as a separate force to be reckoned with and a force that holds the
balance of power in the Dominion Parliament.

It is pointed out by some of those who have studied the
situation that there’is at present a Liberal majority in the Do-
minion House ef Commons and that it is only by virtue of the
support of a part of that Liberal majority that the present Gov-
ernment retains power. It holds the position that the Irish party
at one time held in the British House of Commons.
