(CP from National Defence) Again Urges Douk Vote OTTAWA 0 H. W. Herridge iCCF-W. Kootenayi Thursday night renewed In the House of Commons his plea that the f ran-jchise be extended to certain jDoukhobors in British Columbia, He spoke while the Commons considered the biil to make a series of amendments to the Canada Elections Act. Mr. Herridge said there are large numbers of Doukhobors in British Columbia who have assumed full responsibilities of citizenship. Yet they are denied the right to vote which he re garded1 as an injustice. Mr. Herridge recalled that last year and again this year at meetings of the election committee he had unsuccessfully urged the franchise be extended t-; Die Doukhobors. POWER SITUATION As for the situation after the vote on the power referendum, the mayor-elect felt that "we are just about where we .started." He was somewhat disappointed at. tiie i csuit oi wie leierenouni and wondered how he had been elected in face of the 'yes'' vote on the referendum. .
