Ss Hornet’s Nest Greeted “Christian.” Our correspondent “Christian” a nest of hornets when he wrote that letter to the Daily News a few days ago objecting to the Sunday evening concerts and other Sunday activities. There has been a general protest against his} attitude, for the writer was not a lady, as some seem to suggest. | Many people who have no! written letters have dropped in to express their views on the matter which, speaking generally, are that a Sunday evening concert is just what the people of Prince Rupert have been wishing for but which hitherto they have been seems to have stepped into unable to enjoy. We are in accord with those views. We believe that place where there are so many homeless people, the time could not be better spent than in aitending a Sunday evening concert Many will go to the concert who do in a after the church services. not wish to go to church. The News would like to suggest that there will be consider- able expense in connection with running a Sunday evening con- cert and that those attending should go prepared for the collec- tion, just as they would if they went to church. The law does not allow a charge being made, cither directly or indirectly, but it does allow a free offering. ‘ The Symphony Orchestra is a local organization and it is deserving of local suppor. We believe that the concert will be one well worth attending and would urge on the people of the city, who believe in the value of good music as an educative in- fluence, to not only attend the concert tomorrow, but to support it financially. Growth of Business At This Port. The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway officials have been cou- sidering the problem of hand! ng the rapidly increasing business of the road. It was mentioned at Edmonton that the business of this port was going ahead by leaps and bounds, and they realize that it is only just beginning to grow. The future offers great promise. Everything points toea big business and a hig grow'h in the city. . , There is no city with industries like Prince Rupert has, which is not at least double her size. We have ready money coming here all the time. The promise is that this year there will be steady shipments of fish to this port by the larger vessels of the fleet. An all-the-year-round income is what other citics would like. This is where we produce. —___ $400 GIVEN |N CASH PRIZES ist Prize $200 Cash. 2nf Prize $100 Cash. 3rd Prize $50 Cash.
