The corrective is an alkali, wGlch neutralizes acids instantly. The best alkali known to medical science is Phillips' Milk of Magnesia. It has remained the standard anti-acid with physicians in the 50 years since its invention. One spoonful of this harmless, tasteless alkali will neutralize instantly many times as much acid, and the symptoms disappear ot once. You will titxtr use crude methods 'when once you learn the efficiency oi this more pleasant way. A small bottle is sufficient to show its merit. Be sure to get genuine Phillips' Milk of Magnesia prescribed, by physicians for more than 00 years in correcting excess acid. 60c a bottle; any drugstore. Tie newspapers of the emintrv have done a frreat deal in advocating buvinu at home but they have not always been backed up by the merchants. What is the use of asking customers to use Canadian made goods if merchantspersist in constantly featuring foreign goods, that are advertised in Canada in foreign publications? Under those conditions customers will continue to buy foreign goods, even at higher priced, to the disadvantage of the home product. THE TIE CONTRACTS The Daily News is today advertising for ties tjo be cut for the Canadian National Railways. The contracts will be a great help to the settlers of the interior. The Vancouver Sun gives credit for the suggestion that these be cut to the member for Prince Rupert, Olof Hanson. He made the suggestion in the House of Commons at Ottawa, and the government took his suggestion even though he was speaking from the opposition benches. Also it may lie mentioned that he had to fight to get his suggestion before the House because an attempt was made to have him ruled out of order. At the time the suggestion was made many people seemed to think that Mr. Hanson was trying to get orders for his own firm, but the full report of the proceedings showed that this was not true. He advocated the doing of the work by band labor instead of in "mills so that more work would be jrovided for the actual settlers. Seen today in regard to the move, Mr. Hanson said he did mot want any credit for what he had donp. He simply was, anxious that the men in the interior who so badly needed it should get the work for which they were seeking.
