Looking Ahead To the Winter Matter of Employment Taken Up With Power Corporation Officials By Council At the meeting of the city council last night Mayor Orme was Instructed to approach the Power Corporation of Canada officials with a view to having the hours of labor reduced on the construction work at Falls River just as soon as the critical part of the work .was completed. The object of this was to relieve the unemployment situation which was likely to be acute this coming winter. The subject was Introduced by Alderman Macdonald who said that already the matter had been men tioned unofficially to the Power Corporation heads. The Mayor had 'discussed the situation with Mr. McAfee. Alderman Collart, Pills-bury, Pullen, Rudderham, Black and Brown all supported the move.
