DAILY EDITION, Prince Rupert as Centre for Sport. Prince Rupert is not often spoken of as a centre for sport. It is true, however, that it is one of the best possible points from which to reach the hunting grounds, Deer are brought in here every week end during the season and ducks and geese are secured in large numbers. An occasional wolf is bagged, and the sportsmen have not to go very far to secure bear. There are sportsmen in the city who know the favorable spots and who ean go out and bring in a deer in half an hour from the time of landing. It is splendid sport and one that tends to ruggedness of constitution and health. Police Commission : And “The Force.” The police commissioners from time to time give the chicf of police instructions to enforce the law in certain directions. At one time it is against a certain type of gambling and again it is against disorderly houses or against people who sell drinks con- trary to the Prohibition Act, or against vendors of fruits after prohibited hours. These instructions seem to intimate that there may be cases where the police should not enforce the law. Only recently, however, the city solicitor made it quite clear that it ‘ was the duty of the police to enforce the law at all times and that neither the commissione:s nor anyone else had any option in the matter. If the law is wrong it should be repealed, bit while it is on the statute book: the duty of the police is to enforve it. That is what they are foi, and when they are sworn in they declare their intention so to co. They have no right to obey in- structions to refrain from e) forcing the law, although it must be admitted that it is often done.in other cities than Prince Rupert. CEDAR ‘annot expect support from any of| THE DALLY NEWS VALUE is based, not on the price paid for a commodity, but on the benefit de- rived, That fs why Zam-Buk is the cheapest skin healer on the market —hecause the benefit derived is 95% greaier than can be got from ordinary ointments. This fs due to the fact that Zam-Buk is all medi- cine—100%. Ordinary ointments are 56% medicine and the balance animal fat. The superiority of Zam-Buk is proved by the many cases of chronic ekin trouble and old sores which yield to the power of Zam-Buk after all other treatments have fatled. The unusual power of penetration which Zam-Buk possesses enables it to reach the underlying tissues, where skin troubles have their “root.” Then the germicidal pro- Pperties in Zam-Buk destroy al! germs. Until this is done healing ean never be thorough. The reason why sores that have been treated with ordinary ointments break out again is because the remedy has never got to the seat of the trouble but has only healed over the outer skin. Zam-Buk,-on the contrary, uproots skin disease, and the cure is complete and permanent. Zam-Buk should always be used for eczema, ringworm, scalp sores Pi =ples, abscesses, ulcers, blood- poisoning, bad leg, piles, cuts, burns and scalds.
