The Canadian total up to date this season was 6,023,200 pounds as compared wth 6,974,250 pounds last year while the aggregate of American fares was-15,610,800 pounds as against 17,-762,000 pounds at the corresponding date last year. There is no chance now for landings this? : i year to catch up to those of last year. The landings were never able to recover from the loss of two weeks In getting started ,this season through the agreement of the I fishermen not to commence opera tions utnu March 1 instead of February 15, the statutory date for the opening of the season. Landings for the week of October 11-17 inclusive totalled 665.000 pounds of which 120,000 pounds was from Canadian boats and 546,000 pounds from American. During the week prices were fairly steady with a tendency to' weakness. The highest bid of the week for American fish was 185c and 5c which the Betty was paid for 7,000 pounds while the low price was 10c and 5c which the Attu and Eagle received for catches of 27,000 and 48,000 pounds respectively. The top bid for Canadian fish was 16.6c and 5c received by the Clipper II and Selma for catches of 3,000 and 5,000 pounds respectively and the low, 10.4c and 6c which the Viking I was paid for 2,500 pounds.
