Following the singing of "O, Can-Ada," Katherine padwallader told of the origin of Hallowe'en. The pupils then sang a song which described the Voyage of Columbus. Mother Goose, ably impersonated by Kathleen Tomlinson, entered and presented the primary pupils with, their newsreaders. A Hallowe'en dialogue in costume by Patrick Sims, William Thompson and Walter Tomlinson was greatly enjoyed. Oames and contests were participated in by both pupils and visitors. Contest prize winners were Katherine Cadwallader, Dolly Pau- 11s and William Thompson. While refreshments were being served Jack-o-Lanterns illuminated the owls, black cats, witches and bats, with which the school was tastefully decorated. A very happy afternoon was spent by all, The evening was the occasion for a great community bonfira wonderfully built and stoked by Frank MacLean. Old time songs hailed, witches and ghosts. These spooky creatures Joined the community fun. A Jolly weiner roast took place, in which every one from the young-eat to the oldest took part. Candles and nuts were generously provided. A very happy evening was brought to a close by the singing of "God Save the King."
