Elks Defeat Native Sons of Canada Six to Four In Opening Baseball Game of 1930 Season The local baseball season opened last evening on the Acropolis 'Hill grounds, when the Elks, resplendent in their classy new white uniforms, defeated the Native Sons of Canada by a score of six to four. Mavor Orme. who has donated a cup for league competition, pitched the first ball and Aid. Rudderham, president of the league, caught it. The first- ball went wild but was recovered and His Worship managed to find the plate with his second at tempt. A fair-sized crowd of fans was out tn witnpss the league opener. Herman Loblick had his shoots working nicely for the winners and held the Sons to five hits and struck out six batters. Bill Lambie started on the mound for the losers and struck out seven men in j four and a third innings.
