Bingo StUl Submerged After having spent a week on the west coast of Banks Island await ing suitable weather in order to proceed with the salvaging of th? halibut boat Bingo, which sank at the first of last week, the Pacific Salvage Co.'s power tug Pachena Capt. Charlie La r kin, returned to port on Wednesday night. Up. to that time, the weather had been too dirty to permit of the Job being undertaken. However, the Pachena went out again on Thursday morning, taking a diver. Harry Kohrt. with her and it was hoped that the salvage might be accomplished within the course of the next few days. The Bingo is now lying in about seven fathoms of water, having drifted something like a quarter of a mile along the bottom since she went down. The Royal Fish Co.'s service boat Delphinium has been chartered for a month or so by the Pacific Salvage Co. and this week delivered a boom of some 225.000 feet of logs from the BUlmor Spruce Mills Ltd. mill at Porpoise Harbor to Brown's mill on the Bcstall River. The Delphinium left at midnight Wednesday and returned to port yesterday. The logs were sold by Billmor because there is no Immediate intention of opening of the new mil! at Porpoise Harbor for operation.
