There was an excellent turnout at the monthly meeting of the council of Terrace Board of Trade, when the president, E. T. Kenney, was welcomed to hit accustomed place after some months' illness. Discussion took place as to the position of affairs at Lakelse Lake front and the secretary was asked to communicate with the local member, Dr. H. C. Wrlnch, on the matter. An interesting letter from Dr. J. T. Mandy, resident mining engineer, regarding suggestions for mining improvements in the district and containing a promise to address the board ln the near future was read. The meteorological office, Toronto, wrote promising to instal a dry and wet bulb thermometer in the Terrace station and asking for a contour map of the district for use ln connection with aviation. The secretary was empowered to f urnlsb the map desired. Arrangements were made for holding the annual meeting of the board and a committee appointed to get up a program for the evening to which a general public Invitation will be issued. The board instructed the secretary to write the Public Works Department asking that the construction 6t the bridge, across theKH-surrlkalum River, near Kalilm Lake, be taken ln hand at once before the spring floods occur, and, in this way, alleviate the lack of employment in the district.
