the
state

finances,

frequently
stated,

taxpayer
to
another,
that
an
audit
of
the
city's
affairs
should

be
made
by
come
one
not
connected
with
the
city,
and
the
results
published,
so
that
every
one
can
see
for
himself
just
where
we
stand,
and
If
there
is
any
truth
in
the
rumors
about
receivership
being
Imminent.
The
taxpayer
Is
also
asking
If
It
is
necessary
in
a
small
town
of
this
size
that
the
City
Hall
staff
salaries
should
reach
the
enormous
total
of
something
like
$25,-
000.00
per
year.
It
would
be
in
the
Interests
of
every
taxpayer
to
study
the
situa
tion
well
before
voting
on
Thursday
as
the
next
two
yean
will
be
v:ry
critical
ones
in
the
history
of
our
city,
as
anyone
who
has
seen
a
city
in
receivership
knows
that
a
property
investment
in
that
city
is
practically
valueless
for
years.
