Wilkinson Chosen for Position With Alderman Linzty Secretary At the first meeting of the newly constituted Public Library, Q. V. Wilkinson was last night chosen chairman and Alderman Linwy secretary. J. 3. Qillis. the( new appointee was welcomed to, the Board, estimates were passed and the report of he librarian for the month of January received. The report showed that the total circulation for the month was 4705 volumes of which fiction was the largest group with 2,947, Juvenile came second with 1,068, non-fiction 477 and duplicate pay 216. The daily average circulation was 224.1. New borrowers were 48 while 30 old cards were canselled. The number of borrowers now on the books is 2,9)1. Books were received during the month, three by gift and 118 by purchase, while during the same time 58 were discarded as unfit! for further use, making a net gain! of 63. The number of books now' on the shelves or in circulation Is 7.103. I The book committee was appointed by chairman Wilkinson to consist of.J. J- Olllls, Mrs. Kirk-' Patrick and Alderman Dibb.
