Petty Officer Instructor Young also explained fn a few well chosen words his appreciaUon of Mr. Fid-Ier"s promotion as he had had a great deal to do with his training. Lieut. After the transaction of the rou-tine business, the officers of 1930 were re-elected with the addition of F. A. MacCallum and L. H. Haworth to the executive. A vote of thanks from the Navy League was extended to Mr. and Mrs. Young Mr. Young for his un-'iring and efficient work In training the cadets and Mrs. Young for her efforts In making the boys feel it home in the headquarters and her help in any social affairs put on by the cadets. Lieut. Hume was thanked for his co-operation in allowing the unit the use of the R. C. N. V. R. premises and equipment T. H. Johnson gave an account pf the annual meeting of the Navy League in London, Eng., which he was able to attend. The chairman' report covering 1030 was as follows: "It is with much pleasure that for the third time I submit a brief report of the activities of the Prince Rupert Branch of the Navy League of Canada. I think we have good grounds for satisfaction in the progress which this branch of the Navy League of Canada has made during the past year. We made a special effort to increase the membership, and at the present time we have 65 members in good standing, which is a substantial Increase over the membership at our last annual meet ing. The meetings of the executive committee have been well attended and much enthusiasm has been shown in the affair of this branch of the Navy League of Canada. Our secretary, W. O. Vlgar, has contin ued to give his time and secretarial ability throughout the year with the only hope of reward In the knowledge of the work being well done. Phillip M. Ray continues to hold himself In readiness to supply books and magazines to the officers and crews of deep-sea vessels which from time to time, visit this port, 'The work in connection with the Prince Rupert Sea Cadet Corps i "Captain Cook") continues to be our chief activity. Lieutenant R. The us ual tag day, however, was neia. which was successful and received a sympathetic and generous support from the citizens of Prince Rupert. "During the past year W. Fidler, jr. received his appointment as sub-lieutenant of this corps. "It Is with much pleasure that we notice from the secretary a a treasurer's report that our finances : jj are in better shape than they were -i last year, but we, nevertheless, look J to both old and new members of g S this branch of the Navy League of Canada to'continue their support so that the work of the organisation can be carried on without interruption.
