Klrkendall, who has been appointed secretary of the joint committee of the Gyro and Rotary Clubs having charge of t.he concessions at the Prince Rupert Exhibli tion this month, reported to the Gyro Club, at its luncheon yesterday, that arrangements for the outside midway attractions were well advanced. A number of the devices had already been settled upon although the committee was still open for suggestions. In order to make a success of the undertaking, which was to be quite a large one, Mr. Klrkendall referred to the necessity of all members of both the clubs turning to and working when they are called upon for assistance. James L. Lee of the Rotary Club is chairman of the joint committee. The Gyro Club also decided to sponsor a candidate in the Beautequest contest which is being staged in connection with the Fair to select a local delegate to go to the main contest In Los Angeles. A committee consisting of W. H. Tobcy, N. L. Freeman and Dr. L. W. Ker-gln was named to select a candidate on behalf of the Gyro Club and make the necessary arrangements for according her the necessary support. jjA committee consisting of Dr. -L. W. Kergln, W. H. Tobey, L.W. Waugh and W. M. Watts was named to take charge of the forthcoming Gyro picnic. It is planned to have a clam bake and corn feed at Pillsbury Cove, members of the club to supply the necessary boats. The club named H. D. TROLLER IS SALVAGED Jack Hazelton and Eddie Falfy Came to Assistance of Ryan Brothers In Shawatlans Passage Swung round by the rushinq tlderips in Shawatlans Rapids yesterday afternoon about three o'clock, the trolling boat of Eddie and Bob Ryan of Metlakatla plied up on a rock but, with the assistance of Jack Hazelton and Eddie Falfey In their glll-netter, after an all-night Job, the 'stranded boat was finally salvaged early this morning and tawed to a nearby beach where she was beached. It was about at the half of & falling tide when the Ryan boat went on the rock. About two or three hours later at 6 pjn. Hazel-ton and Falfey came along and hove to to lend assistance.
