The chief of these is the feeling of satisfaction that comes to the person who feels this is something of his own which he can improye and get all the benefits of the improvement. There is a feeling of permanency that cannot be secured in any other way. Speaking of this the other day a local resident, who has had to move from city to city several times, said to a Daily News representative: "For many years I worked for a comparatively small salary but I always owned my own house everywhere I went and I made money out of every case. Usually through the advance in value of the property I had the use of the house rent free for the time I was in the city." You can generally tell the renter by a glance at his place. The man who is a permanent resident, owner of his home, belongs to a class all his own. He feels a pride in the fact that it is his.
