This information was obtained by the Citizen at the mint here recently. It is thought there may not be any more gold coinage in the Dominion for a long time. International exchanges are generally settled In gold bullion. The mint is making gold bars, though, and these are being stored, distributed throughout the Domin ion, or shipped abroad, as the oc casion demands. It is understood that the finance department of the government has more than $1,000,000 in gold bullion In Its possession at the present time. The mint also at present con tains 1,000,000 ounces of silver to be used In making silver coins. Speaking of the Toric mine, also at Alice Arm, Dr. Mandy had the following to say: "Active exploration of the Toric was continued up to the middle of April when, on account of the depressed and uncertain silver market, operations were suspended. Very encouraging results were met in the winze and lateral work from it which showed an increased width of the ore body with sections of high grade ore and a fair general average value.
