Last season a lady at Smithers did a large 'business in selling fresh eggs direct from the farm by advertising in this paper. Chickens, implements, household goods, boats, fishing gear, guns, cortlwood, furs and dozens of other articles may be disposed of. The charge is two cents a word but six times goes for the price of four. Many people gfct good results. Why not you? ; DAILY NEWS Classified Department PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. T. Vnn nrlv nro nwnr that these ! district votes cover only mainten-l ance and completed roads and i bridges, and not new work. You must also know that the Prince George district Includes the B.C. portion of the rapidly setUing Peace River district having several hundred miles of completed roads; and are also aware that the Prince Rupert district has only about 40 miles of roads, therefore we are actually getting much more pro-portionally than Prince George, ; considering our mileage; the vote here Is the same as last vear and more than other recent ears for the -same purpose. As the government Is only in office two and a half years Ihey are not to blame for the fact that we only have about 40 miles of road In this Prince Rupert district; which takes in the Q. C. Islands and as far up the keena River as Hays- port only. You surely are aware that the ; DISTRICT VOTES that you gave.j cover only road and bridge main-1 tenanoe, and that new work is voted yearly In a lump sum as the B. C. ! ROAD LOAN and the amount that each district gets is determined af ter the House rises; so far this year the road loan vote has not yet been voted. Iri the ldsC 12 months lrbm the Q. Islands to Skeena River on roads ind bridges about $300,000 has been spent; It would be of interest, Mr. Sdltor, If you would teU your read-' rs how much more than this was ipent by the Liberal government In their 12 years of office, In the above irea, on NEW roads and bridges. I remember about four years ago -eading In the News an item stating that it was hoped to reach Terrace that fall with the road from Haiel-m. but when the new government went Into office I enquired how nuch mileage there was to complete the road to Terrace from the ast, and was astounded to learn that 42 miles was needed, .most of which was not even surveyed. As the facts could have been got from the public works office here for the asking, It Is strange that the press did not give them. I hope Mr. Editor, that you do no wish to have road work cease out bf this city, like some people here actually do, to make a political point; but this Is surely not likely. Yours for progress on the new road. W. R. LOVE. f ';JNJKR10tl DECORATIIjO, r PAINTING AMI SIU. WRITING Very moderate prices. JOERGEN P, MOLLER Painter and Decorator Phone Red 802. 7th Ave. W.
