A special despatch to the Daily Province of Thursday last says: Hon. T. D, Pattullo, minister of lands for British Columbia, has completed his work in Ottawa and is leaving tonight for Victoria. He has taken up a number of ques- tions with the departments and cabinet minister and is well satis- fled with the result of his visit to Ottawa. Mr. Pattullo has arranged for; co-operation between the province and Dominion for a thorough in- vestigation of the reclamation of 20,000 acres at the Kootenay flats, rhe project is one affecting both the United States and Canadian governments, and the Canadian authorities have already taken up the question of a joint investiga- tion with Washington. Groundhog Coal. Mr. Pattullo urged upon the railway department the desirabil ity of carrying on investigatory and survey work in the Ground- hog district with a view to open- ing up the coal areas the:e tribu- tary to the Grand Trunk Pacific. He also arranged with the mili- tia department for co-operation with the British Columbia forest department in the establishment of wireless stations for forest protection work. The minister discussed with the members of the recently formed air board plans for co-operation between the province and the Dominion to carry out aerial operations both for forest protection and survey work.
