Tells About Meat Packing At Luncheon 1. E. Gulick Gives Interesting Address to Members of the Rotary Club At the regular weekly luncheon of the Prince Rupert Rotary Club yesterday. G. E. Gulick gave a very interesting talk on packing plants. He described In some detail the various stage through which meat passed beforerK reached the consumer. He saidfthere were 74 packing plants in Canada and six In British Columma. The packing industry came third in Importance In the Dominion. Pulp and paper manufacture led with grist mills coming second. One interesting sidelight was that only 53 of the live steer was marketable as mea$. In hogs the percentage wu larger. Consumption of meat had Increased at a rapid rate, Indicating that vegetarianism was not popular. At the conclusion of his address Mr. Gulick was thanked by President S. D.
