Leray OM.l., who, for the past four years has had charge of the small missions of Pacific,' Usk, Terrace and Stewart, has now been appointed resident priest for the Stewart-Hyder district. Father Leray is well known in I Prince Rupert as elsewhere In the ! north. After serving with distinction in the ranks of the French Army during the Great War, and spending one year in Germany as a prisoncrbf-war, Father Leray came tQ Prince Rupert In October, 1919 and made his headquarters hero for sevcrkl years during which time he was art -appreciated speaker on many public occasions in the city. He also made a host of friends both among Catholics and non-Catholics. To Rev. Father Leray's efforts is due the magnflcent Catholic Church in Prince George with its splendid location on Millar addition. He left Prince George in August, 1926,.for a well deserved vacation to France, and was disappointed oh his return to learn that he had been already transferred to another field by his ecclesiastical superiors. Fraser as Intrini-Moderator Are Appreciated The session and board of managers of First Presbyterian Church met last evening in the Manse for the purpose of expressing the gratitude and thanks of the congregation to H. C. Fraser, - MA, for the faithful and efficient service rendered by him to the church in his capacity as Interlm-moderatoi during the long period the church was without a permanent minister. Congratulations were expressed that Mr. Fraser's work as interim- moderator had been brought to i happy and successful conclusion by the calling and recent Induction of Rev. W. D. Grant Hollingworth to trfe pastoral charge of the congregation. V. Wv C. O'Neill, on behalf of the congregation, presented Mr Fraser with a pair of massive braiu candlesticks and brass vase to match, as a token of the congregation's gratitude and esteem. Mr Fraser, who was taken entirely by surprise, responded in a very suitable manner, expressing also hli pleasure at the happy and successful termination of the long vacancy In the church; and for the bright hopes the church had for the future.
