The floor was in excellent condi- tion and Harvey's Orchestra played well, featuring some of the later dance pieces. At midnigh refreshments were served in the club dining noom. The following were the com- mittees :— H. R. Love, floor manager. Refreshments—Wm. Reid, Wm. Burken, R. Arthur, F. Wermig and A. Stockland. Decorations—K. A. Rood, con- venor; J. D. Bell and 8. M. There was a great crowd out to see the great eight-reel super- feature, “Cleopatra” at the West- holme Theatre and none were dis- appointed. The story of the se- ductive queen of Egypt who cap- tivated Mark Anthony is told in picture in a most realistic man- ner and, with Theda Bara as the queen, is a really great film which is well worth seeing. Now that Egypt is very much in the public eye it is interesting to see the Nile and. the scenes of Egyptian life which have changed little in many parts of the coun- try. The picture again tonight. DANGEROUS OPERATION WAS SUCCESSFUL Don Yelf was yesterday morn- ing successfully operated on and the piece of shrapnel which was shot into his spine nearly five years ago was recovered. Don has been under medical treatment and various examinations since he re- ceived the wound, but both Eng- lish and American doctors were afraid to operate so close to the nerve ceutre. Yesterday Dr. W. T. Kergin, assisted by Drs, L. W. Kergin and J. P. Cade, removed the troublesome metal.
