C, Prince Rupert gets another $25,000 for soldier housing pur- poses fom the Dominion fund. This has been allotted under in-| structions from T. D. Pattullo,| member for this district and min- ister of lands. At the City Coun- | cil meeting last night a letter from the superintendent of the B. ¢ Soldiers’ Settlement Board was read, in which he explained that he had been instructed by the minister to apportion the $25,000 to this place and he further said that if the money was available later, another $25,000 might be allotted. This allotment of $25,000 to this city brings the total amount for this district up to $100,000, whereas if Prince Rupert got her share proportioned to her popula- tion instead of her needs she would have received only $18,000. The new grant will enable anoth- er eight or nine houses to be built here for soldiers. ENGINEER’S SALARY Increase to $250 a Month Was Granted by Council.
