It is stated by Prince Rupert dealers that northern turnips are in much demand locally but unfortunately the farmers of the interior have none to sell. LETTER BOX ALICE A KM PUBLIC WOUKS to Bklltor. Dally News: 1 In the news Items In your paper May 27 you mentioned the Alice Arm Branch of the D. C. Chamber . of Mines at a recent meeting in protest at the unfairness ot public works employment given here. I wish to point out this meeting was not held under the auspices of this organization, but was held by the citizens and prospectors of the camp for the purpose ot endorsing . oetition to the government asking to investigate the approprlaUon "pent here last year, and the unfairness of employment given on relief work here last winter, and asking to have this year's appropriation spent on the Upper Kltsault Road and trails to mining properties Instead of gravelling streets tn the town.
