GITLAKDAMIX LIQUOR CASES Several Native Offenders as Well as Aijansh Postmaster Fined AIYANSH, Jan. 20: As a result of a suddan raid made on the Klt-lakdamix Indian Reserve by Dominion Constable E. O. Newnham, assisted by Indian Constable C. Morven, about twenty gallons of home-made liquor was seized and destroyed and the following were arrested and dealt with accordingly: George Williams and Catherine Williams for manufacturing liquor were fined $30 and $5 costs each. James Woods for the same offence was also fined $30 and $6 costs. 1 Walter Woods was fined $15 and $5 costs for intoxication. These fines were paid. Constable Newnham afterwards arrested Harold Gray, postmaster at the Alyansh white settlement, and took him to Prince Rupert, where he Dleaded guilty before Police Magistrate II. F. McLeod to a charge of supplying liquor to Indians and was fined $100 and costs of the prosecution or three months in jail. He paid the fine.
