Dec 1: Following the subsiding of a three-day Arctic storm, one of the worst in years, word was received from the marooned crew of the steamer Baychimo that the Icebound vessel was lost. A high ridge in the icepack has risen where the Baychimo was but the vessel has disappeared. A valuable cargo of furs was on board.
