E. (i. Theodore, Commonwealth treasurer, today introduced in the House of Representatives a hill whereby the Commonwealth may shortly abolish the statutory gold reserve and ship to London for debt payments'the gold thus released. Mr, Theodore also stated that if the Westminster Hank of London insist on the payment of the $25,000,000 due from the three Australian states on March 31 he feared those governments would have to default.
