RADIO ASS'N SEEKS HELP Wants City Council to Join in Protest Against High Power Line Interference A communication from the Prince Rupert Radio Association seeking to enlist the co-operation of the city council in makingrc-presentations to the Power Corpor ation of Canada in regard to excessive Interference to radio reception caused by the high power transmission line running through the centre of the city was read at the meeting of the council last night, and was laid on the table pending a conference being held between the executive of the radio association and the utilities committee of the ouncil when the matter will be Ib-cassed in more detail. The .suggestion made in the let-er from the radio Association jvas hat the city council write a strong letter to the Power Corporation, asking that some real endeavor be made to Change present reception onditions so that 500 radio owh-ts in the city might derive some measure of benefit from the machines in which they had invested. Aid James Black would have had he city write at once to the Power Corporation but Aid. S. D. Macdon-aid felt that it would be wiser to defer action until a conference between the executive of the radio association and the utilities, which was already being planned, had been held. The whole matter of the effect of the transmission line on radio reception would be discussed at that time and the committee would have something definite to place before the council. Aid. G. W. Rudderham, who said that he was one of those who was unfortunate enough to own a radio receiver, felt that the opinion of Experts should be obtained before inything definite was done.
