I Shipbuilding Plant of Canadian Vickcrs Limited is Destroyed by Disaster at St. Lawrence River Port Three Successive Explosions Demolished Ship Early This Morning MONTREAL, June 17 : A succession of terrific blasts tore the oil tanker Cymbeline wide open in Montreal harbor early today, killing some twenty-three men including Fire Chief Raoul Gauthier and three firemen, and injuring sixty-three men, many seriously, including fifteen firemen. Ten bodies have so far been recovered. The dry dock of Canadian Vickcrs Limited, in which the ship was being repaired, was wrecked. MacOowan of Burns Lake to one month's im prisonment with hard labor alter having pleaded guilty to a charge , ot breaking and entering the cabin of Alexander McOouaall at Uncha Lake during the owners absence and taking a watch and chain, gloves, shirt, sox and breeches. McDougall. who had been absent from the cabin for two weeks, found , on his return that the place had been rifled. The person entering had eaten a meal and had shaved with a safety razor. Hairs which were left In the safe ty rasor led the police to suspect Solhelm who, on being searched, was found to have In his possession part of the watch chain. Solhelm then confessed and led the police to a point In the bush where ho had secreted the other property. The trial followed.
