The men who fought are above all others able to realize what the war meant. They were inspired with a spirit of patriotism which led them to give their lives in the cause which they were told would end all wars. PARTY GOVERNMENT R. B. DH a special editorial writer in the Victoria Colonist, Conservative, has soinethine to say about party government from which the following extract is taken": It fe evident that the non-party system of government in the Prairie Provinces did not eliminate partv politics, for potitka) parthanship has been quite as pronounced and acute under the stncalled non-part v form of government as under the orthodox system of government. The high cost of government has not been reduced uatfer the system advocated br Mr. Dafoe as a sure aitd sovereign cure for aB the political and economic ilk of the pcv,;fe. On the contrary, the cost of government m the Prairie Provinces is higher than in any other province of the Domin-v and the rate of taxation higher too. The party svstem still prevails, and wut prevail under any system or form of wvernment and adAmistration You mar change the names of parties, but they wiH ill remain politic parties. ou may form a government and declare it a non-partv goerninenu but unmediatev a government is formed, lust as certainly a there are differences of opinion between indivieJuaW there mil! be differences of opinion between masses of people, and there will be an opposition to a gxn-ernment Wherever there is e. governing party there will be an opposition party. If Mr Dafoe or anv of his dis-uls d admirers had the rourace to adopt' the $vKini of Museaolini. who suppresses hv force any opposition to his system, they might have a chance of eabliahing in the pmvmce of Canada or in the Dominion a government which had the unanimous support of the people."
