C0LMAN IS VERY GOOD Popular English Actor Has Excellent Vehicle For His Talents in "The Unholy Garden" In his latest picture, "The Unholy Garden." which is coming to the Capitol Theatre here the first of this week, Ronald Colman, the po pular English screen star, who may always be depended upon to act with skill and ease, has a part which Is very nicely suited to his talents. He plays a worldly and amusing embezzler, a charming scamp who, for the sake of love, gives up a particularly enticing embezzlement and finds to his satis faction that even decency has Its moments. Colman may play some parts better than he does others but he never plays badly and in this picture he turns in one of the most splendid performances of his long and distinguished career before the camera. He reads his lines well and his voice and diction are, as usual. excellent. Fay Wray and Estelle Taylor pro vide the feminine appeal. There Is some very Interesting dialogue and the picture is throughout very good entertainment. The Letter Box UNEMPLOYED WOKKEllS Editor. Dally News: In i report of the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce which ap peared in today's Issue, it was eta ted that they wished the road work at Cloyah Day Camp to proceed. Mr. Pillsbury. in saying that thr men wanted the chance to work for their clothes, was correct, but not quite definite enough. They are willing to work off the cost of the clothes, which are to he in advance, at the rate of $4.00 per six-hour day, and not at the do- grading Tolmie & Co. offer of $7.50 per month. Prior to this "depression.'' if. and when we read of coolies working for the abominable wage of 26 cents a day, we would feel quite "white ' and superior, pitying or sneering at them according to our mood at the ' time. Even Juggling Jones cannot make $7.60 per month work out at more than 36 cents per day and we mean to fight the lowering of our standard of living to this coolie level We might add that In the Orient food and clothing is cheaper, and not as much of the latter needed, so in proportion, we would not receive as much as them. The fact that the Bkeena River fishermen do not go out, seems to cause Capt. Armour some concern. It Is only common sense that makes them do this, preferring to draw the dole instead of working 10 and 12 hours a day for nothing and return to the dole again worse off than before, having worn out the few rags they now possess. Thanking you, Mr. Editor, for your valuable spaee, Yours faithfully. T. MURPHY, Secretary. National Unemployed Workers Association. John A. Fraser, MP. for Carl-boo, has returned to his home at Quesnel after attending the session of Parliament at Ottawa. He was met at Prince Oeorge by Mrs. Fraser and family.
