Ji. V r. .5 n 1 THE DAILY NEWS. PKINCK RUPEKT BRITISH COLUMBIA Published Every Afternoon, Except Sunday, by Prince Rupert Dally News, Limited. Third Avenue DAILY EDITION H. F. PULL EN Managing-Editor POPPY DAY SATURDAY Thursday. Nov. 2, 1933 -.Saturday is Poppy Day. Once more the people of Prince Rupert will be given the privilege of buying a poppy to show that they still revere the memory of the men who died jn France and Flanders in the Great War. Sixty thousand of the sis hundred thousand men who enlisted for service lost their lives overseas. It is in honor of the niemory of these men that we wear the blood red emblem at this week-end. 1 The turmoil of the election is practically over and we can turn our attention to other matters. Much as we may abhor war and hate the necessity for mortal strife we niyst be thrilled by the heroic deeds of those who fought and fell. Buy a poppy Saturday. If you can afford it buy one for each member of the family. It is a peace token not a war token. REGRETTABLE ERKOK Qwing to the fact that the C. C. F. and the Socialist j Party have been so closely allied during the election campaign some confusion arose two days ago in regard to j four Vancouver Socialist candidates being C. C. F. candidates. This was unfortunate. We have tried to be fair to all paxtles during the campaign and have given, as much spaceasoseibe to each. Yesterday we publteheU a letter drawing attention to the error which we regret. In Vancouver there are four Socialists in. the field who are not members of the C. C. F. party and these were the ones; who were named in the article.. Most members of the C. C. F. are Socialists but all Socialists are not members of the C. C.F, Hotel Arrivals Central L. Otsflnand C.
