Prices $1.95 10 $3.65 WHIFFLETS From the Waterfront The Northland Transportation Co.'s steamer Northwind, which was in port Tuesday evening unloading six carloads of canned salmon from Ketchikan for trans-shipment east over the Canadian National Railways, was on her maiden voyage in the new service between Ketchikan and other Alaska points and Seattle during the eoure of which she will undoubtedly be a frequent visitor to Prince Rupert in future. The vessel is one of the largest to be engaged in regular service on this coast, being of 1457 tons register. She formerly belonged to the United States Shipping and, before being acquired by the Northland Transportation Co., had beep tied up for some time at New Orleans. The vessel carries a crew of 36 and Capt. John Anderson Is her master. She was here from 3:30 to 10 o'clock Saturday evening, leaving for Seattle after discharging.
