Birmingham, July 6.—Mr. Lloyd George’s great speech on the Na- tional Insurance Bill at the Bir- mingham Town Hall last Saturday was remarkable for the enormous number of applications for seats that poured in. Up to noon that day the number of tickets applied for, despite the fact that the meeting had not been advertised, reached the total jof 70,000. This was at the Liberal | Association headquarters alone. |At the federation thousand other applications had been received.
