LETTER FRON GEORGE LEEK Prince Rupert’s Coronation Re- presentative Visits His Old| Home. Duke of York's School, London., | June 20.—I enclose you a post card showing a photograph of Lord Roberts inspecting our company in the grounds of the Duke of York’s school. The officer companying him was my old col- onel in the Grenadier Guards. It revived many old memories to see him again. Since I last wrote I have had a two days’ visit to my old home. I found my aged mother in good health, and very glad to see me after an absence of twenty years. I was glad to look on the old scenes ac- again. We had a church parade to St. Paul’s Cathedral last Sunday. There was a big turnout of people along the line of march to see us. Captain Stork is in London and called to see us yesterday. He is looking well, and in his rounds met two men who were in his old regiment at Brantford. I get the Prince Rupert News here, and it is always looked over with a great deal of interest by the men of the contingent. Hoping all is well with Prince Rupert, Yours truly, GEORGE LEEK LOTS DOING ON RAIL AND WHARF Business is Brisk on G. T. General Superintend- ent Mehan is kept busy looking after a thousand and one opera- tions on foot each one of which is an indication of advance. Rapid progress is being made with the erection of the smaller snow sheds on the first 100 miles, and these will be ready in good time. Lumber for the stations along the same stretch is arriving and with gangs of men at work from both ends of the first 100 miles General Superintendent Mehan plans to have the station buildings erected at all permanent sidings during the fall. Very rapid prog- ress is being made with the last little stretch of ballasting on the line to Copper City, and the track — Lost and Fourd FOUND~Eureka Cleaning and Pressing Com- pany.
