It seems that he shot himself in the woodshed adjoining his home with a twelve bore shotgun and was quite dead when found bv a harvest hand who ran to the spot when he heard the report of the gun. The man at once rowed to Queen Charlotte City and reported the tragedy to Police Constable O. C. dharpe who fetched the remains to the village. An Inquest was conducted by A. L. Mallory. It was in 1907 that he went to Queen Charlotte Islands and took up land at Maude Island in Skidegate Inlet where he was looked upon as one of the successful farmers.
