The powers are particularly designed to put greater restraint upon police dogs which it is said are a danger to human life and limb and also a danger to other dogs of less predatory type. The legislation which has been accepted by the legislative committee of the Legislature gives the city power to prohibit police dogs in the city or to deal with them in any other way that may be desired in order to protect citizens and less ravage breeds.
